When should my child first see the dentist?

Healthy habits start early!

We recommend children see a pediatric dentist to establish a dental home by their first birthday or with the presence of their first tooth.

Fun colors and flavors help make going to the dentist less intimidating!

We will talk about healthy foods, healthy beverages, ways to make brushing at home more fun, types of toothpaste or brushes to use at which age, and answer any other questions families have about teeth!

Early dental visits allow families to make sure they are doing everything possible for healthy teeth, and also let kids get comfortable in the office. Children’s that have years of happy dental visits will be more comfortable if they need a filling than a child who has never seen the dentist before.

We hope early dental visit will prevent future cavities by making sure families have all the tools they need to keep teeth healthy, and also ensure that kids have the confidence in the office to tolerate simple dental treatment if needed.
