Dr. Leslie Murray, a board-certified pediatric dentist, created Iris Pediatric Dentistry to be a place where children can love the dentist, while getting the best care.

We pride ourselves on having the best technology, like our Solea CO2 laser that allows us to preform needle free fillings. And if the ability to have a positive experience is a concern, we have access to the safest options if kids need to fall asleep for treatment, either with airway-protected general anesthesia in the office or with our doctors at Children’s Hospital Colorado.

🤩Dental Assistant Spotlight!🌟 Hello, my name is Andrea! I grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where I fell in love with the outdoors! Moving to Colorado gave me so many more opportunities to explore, including hiking, mountain biking, and rock climbing, as well as being able to explore the city. I’ve worked with kids ever since I was 16 and love getting to know all of their favorite things and playing games to find the fun in every situation!

A visit is easier if you know what to expect! We created this reel (and saved it as a story highlight where you can read it slower with your little one) so that kids can gain confidence in the steps of our visit before they arrive. This can be great for younger kiddos, those with previous trauma or bad experiences at the dentist, or those on the autism spectrum that utilize visual schedules or social stories at home. Happy Halloween! We know our patients love candy, and honestly one special candy day is OK! A few idea to keep your teeth healthy: -Make sure to brush before bed, we don’t want candy sticking around on those teeth all night! -Sticky or hard candies like taffy, jolly ranchers, skittles or starbursts are more likely to cause problems than those that melt away like chocolate or Reese’s. -Minutes matter! If we eat a small candy every ten minutes for hours, bacteria can use that constant supply of sugar to make cavities. It is better for your teeth to eat the candy over a few minutes, then brush or rinse with water, and not eat again for a few hours. Happy trick-or-treating!

Before I started Iris Pediatric Dentistry, I was at Children's Hospital Colorado, and I still teach their on Thursdays. I sat down to check an exam and had an 8 year old kid smile and exclaim that they remembered me! Looking at their chart, I had met them before, only once... in 2018! When they were 4 years old! You know your kids need to be brushing morning and night, but what if they think toothpaste is yucky or spicy? Picking one of these kid flavors is sure to make it easier! Or do you have a kid that likes brushing all by themselves, but you know they probably aren’t able to do a good job yet? Giving them choices let’s them feel more in control, for example, “Do you want vanilla or melon paste tonight?” You can also take turns, “First you can brush yourself, then I get a turn”.
